Hello all,
Retired and now living in FL. Picked-up my first DW Model 15 .357 w/8 inch barrel about 18 years ago from a hole in the wall gun shop in Baltimore MD. Was fascinated by the interchangeable barrel system. Just picked up a second one with 2.5 - 15 inch barrels (missing a 10 inch - unfortunately not the "pack" - just barrels and tools in original boxes) - boy, they were relatively inexpensive ($40.29 to about $125) compared to what CW is asking now. Both frames were built in Monson, MASS. Looking forward to getting out and shooting with the various barrel lengths. Glad to find this site.

Welcome from yet another Floridian. Snake-eye, Stinger and I Keep in touch. We are also in the leisure generation. Confused about your newer Barrel assemblies. Did you buy them from DW in Norwalk? Did you pay 40 to 129 or that was the original price? Rare to find a hoard of BAs not in a pack. What configuration are they. I favor the V10.

Thanks for the warm welcome all!
I'll post some picks - have 2 different barrel configurations, and, with and without vented site rib - don't know enough to understand a V10 configuration? The prices quoted were on the original boxes that came with the set - I did pay a bit more, but got a frame as well - all from an online auction house in Sarasota, FL.
Leisure generation is right - have also recently started to shoot sporting clays - a lot more fun than golf - and if I miss - well at least I blew a hole in the sky and was able to partake in "Aroma Therapy" (as noted on some pics on this site) - yes leisure for sure!
My toys!
Short barrels do not have the fine finish
My original w/8" barrel and wood grips
New (to me) frame with plastic? grips

V 10 refers to Vent Rib 10" barrel, which you appear to have.
Those "plastic grips" are the Pachmayr Gripper, my personal favorite for "not wood", and a pretty desirable item. They are generally a pretty hot eBay item.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Very nice. A little info. I believe you have a V12, not a 10. Note the 6 vents. We count 2 inches per vent. The 21/2" and the 4" are for 14-2. The fixed sight model. Your frame with the 21/2" will not shoot to point of aim. It is possible to remove the sight by driving the roll pin out and replacing it with a 15-2 sight after drilling a hole in it in the right place. The finish will still not match. You could buy a 14-2 frame on Gunbroker when Toltec, a member here, sells one. Or you could sell or trade them for what would fit.
You are starting out of a wild ride. It is called Dan Wesson Aquisition Syndrome, or DWAS for short. If we can aid and abet you in any way, let us know.
