I recently joined the DW brotherhood/sisterhood and I know you like photos, so here goes:
The blue is very good for a thirty year old gun, almost 100%. The grips show some wear but after I took these pics I worked some lemon oil into them and they look much better.

Thanks for the welcome! I put a couple of boxes of 38 special through it at the shop during the 10 day wait. It shoots both single and double action very nicely when cold, but binds up in double action when it gets warm. Soooo... I checked the cylinder to barrel gap when I got it home.
My thinnest feeler gage is 1.5 thou and it doesn't fit. I can just insert it if I push the cylinder back against the spring, so I reckon the gap must be about 1 thou. The good thing is, even with that gap, there is no interference between the barrel and cylinder at any position, so the run out must be very good.
Now I need to wait for the barrel wrench I ordered from EWK. I bought the one that I can put a socket wrench on because looking at the nut - see below - I think the last owner decided that tighter was better.
By the way, do you guys have any recommendations for torque value for the nut - or should it be just nice and snug.

I set all of my Dan's to .002 at the tightest position. Set the gap to .002 and pull the trigger 6 times and check the gap after each trigger-pull. If you find one too tight, start over at that position.
The torque for the barrel nut should be a firm hand-tighten.
You might want to get a new barrel nut from Eric as well.

Barrel wrench arrived today. Thank you, Eric. It's beautifully made, and shipped quick.
I was right about the nut - IT WAS TIGHT. But with the socket adapter, the wrench worked like a charm.

I actually just set mine per the DW standard, EWK also sells that with some hex keys. (.006")

I ordered a 2.5 in barrel from CZ/DW on Dec31. They had a 15% off deal, so I couldn't resist. FedEx tell me it's on one of their trucks right now. I'll take some pics when it arrives - and even more when LB starts taking orders again. i reckon Gripper grips will look good on the snubby.

Well, as you can see from the pic, the stubby barrel arrived from CZ. And I'm afraid I've really got the bug because I've just ordered a 4" barrel from Eric. It was just toooo tempting.
