I won't be able to post pictures, The gun was stolen yesterday or it got blown away in a tornado.
Sorry, I didn't realize pictures was a requirement of membership here. I don't believe it is a good idea to post pictures of my own guns,, none of which I have anymore anyway, cause they all gone. I have instances where it was definitely a bad thing to post pictures.
I realize many love to show off their guns,, it's just not my thing.
I thought I might be able to get some help from this forum, but apparently not. I just contributed $50 to support the forum, however, if I'm not welcome without pictures please return my $$ and I'll go away quietly.

I apologize Onefreetexan, my intent was to encourage, not insult. I do not believe pictures are a requirement, I only wanted to share your enthusiasm. Please accept my apologies if I offended you. I am new to the forum myself and perhaps overstepped my boundaries.

While we all love to drool over new members' DW's, being able to post photos is certainly not a requirement of membership. Not everyone can figure out these funky electronic boxes. Hehe However, many folks who can't master posting photos enlist the help of kids or grandkids...the younger generations seem to be born computer savvy!
Anyway, welcome aboard & congrats on landing your DW, it sounds like a nice one! If you can post it's serial number, some of us may have more info to help you.

Thank you, bunny, apology accepted.
Charger, I do know how to post pictures, just don't wish to.
Example: Several years ago I was on a old tractor forum, happened to mention I had a particular attachment. Another guy wanted to buy it, but I didn't wish to sell. He got quite insistent and irate that I wouldn't sell it to him. I live 30 miles from where I work, stop every morning for donut and coffee at local ez-mart. One day this guy stops there to ask directions to my place,. the lady working knew I wasn't home that day 'cause I'd already stopped for coffee. She called sheriff's dept, they went to my place to find the guy breaking into my shed to steal that tractor part. He was also carrying non-registered, no permit, and from out of state. Spent a night at local steel bar motel.
Example # 2. On the rimfire forum, posters get pretty friendly, and in my opinion tell way too much. One guy posted that he lived in the country, long driveway, showed pictures of where he shoots, his gun 'closet', everything. I posted many cautions on the board that people posted too much personal information. This guy mentioned he was going to visit relatives and had taken his dogs to the kennel. Somebody went to his place, knowing nobody would be there, parked in his garage. and totally cleaned out his gun collection. Over 100 rimfire guns gone, never found.
Maybe I've too cautious, so I don't post pictures of guns I don't have anyway...

You don't post pics but you describe what gun you have anyhow?
Were you caught up by the recent storms in Texas (your reference to theft and/or tornado)? If so I hope everything works out and you and family are safe otherwise. Welcome to the forum, join in, no one here wants to steal your stuff (but they "might" want to talk you out of it LOL).

The only requirement to being a DWF Member is to not violate Forum Rules or Policy, which you did not.
We like to welcome new Members and ask for pictures as a sort of "ice breaker" and discussion starter, especially on a .32 H&R, a pretty uncommon DW.
Feel free to join any discussions you would like to. This IS an open forum, everyone on line needs to understand the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" principle regarding firearms ownership.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thank you,,, I guess zoommb's comment that my thread was worthless without pictures hit a nerve. I have been in the gun game over 40 years, and of course don't own any now. Thanks for the concern middlecalf.
I participate in many gun forums,, some are good, some are bad,. I am always cautious because I am also in the computer security biz and we won't even go there.
Anyway, I found what I was looking for, that 32 H&R had a very low serial number and was made in probably 1979. I thought the serial number started with IFP, but apparently it is T F P. It also has IHMSA Field Pistol' stamped. It was made in Monson.

I guarantee you that his comment, that included a "smilie" that many of us use, was not mean spirited in any way.
DWF is possibly the most "picture heavy" Shooting Forum I have ever seen, we encourage virtually every New member to put up pictures. I would venture to say that there are probably more Dan Wesson pictures on DWF than almost anywhere else.
Feel free to enjoy DWF, there's a lot to learn here, and with 40 years of shooting history, my guess is you have some knowledge to share as well.

Onefreetexan, I too apologize. I hope you decide to stay on here at DWF and participate.
We do love to see pics here, it is just one of those things we enjoy. But certainly it is strictly voluntary. In your original post you were looking for info/history on your pac, often some good pics is the surest way of correct identification. But we have quite a few members who spend time on here and never post pics and that is just fine.
You stated that you participate on many gun forums, some good and some bad. I can assure you that you have found a good one here and your donation is appreciated and well spent. There are many good guys on here.
About your 32 magnum, if it is a Field Pistol pac the serial # probably starts with IFP, which I believe stands for International Field Pistol. They are an interesting Pac to have, and don't show up too often.
"The lion and the tiger may be more powerful, but the Wolf does not perform in the circus"
I am one of those tech handicapped persons who hasn't figured out how to post pics. Anyway, my motto is a thousand words are worth a picture. Yuk yuk. I am a little long winded. I recently acquired a 32 mag Field Pistol pack also. Beautiful and NOS. Since I have a 32 mag 8V too, I am to keep it unfired for now. Onefreetexan, if you should ever have the chance to get one you would love it. The slotted shrouds are particularly handsome. I wonder if most Monson models started with serial # 1000 since most guns including 32 mag and 715's I see have no number lower than 1000. Anyone know about this? BTW, The IHMSA serial numbers are the membership number of the person in IHMSA. I believe they were only made available to the members.

Brother, onefreetexan, there is no requirement to be a member of the DWF. We appreciate all our folks. I assure you not a one of us meant to be foul. Dan Wesson revolvers are like precious gems to the majority of us here and we truly love seeing them almost as much as we love shooting them. I will say the most of us even consider it to be the best revolver ever produced. I know I feel that way for sure. When a rare or unusual one comes up, of course we all drool. lol Maybe a sad sight.. Anyway, we would sure be glad to have you come around and share with us or ask of us for that matter. If we don't have an answer, somebody usually keeps digging to find one.
