Very nice collection and excellent marksmanship.  I need to shoot much more often than I do, but don't think I can come close to your groups...lol.

Just picked up a 100% condition Dan with a 4 inch barrel. Serial number puts it around 1977. Better than money in the bank!

William, welcome to the forum from PA!  That is one fine collection of 1911's you've got, and those grips are out of this world.  I never owned a 1911 before I bought my RZ10 and I can say that the Dan Wesson 1911's are as addictive as their revolvers, and I think you are afflicted with dwas of the 1911 variant.  Enjoy them!

Scorpio, I lived in Bucks Co. PA before retiring and moving to Long Beach Island. Here in NJ we have to go through HELL and back to get permission to by a handgun and after permission is granted we can only buy one handgun every 30 days. When I lived in PA you could buy whenever and as many guns as you liked. Laws in NJ make it hard to jump onto that perfect DW that pops up because of all of the buying limitations. Regardless, I love to shoot my revolvers as much as the 1911's. They are all hungry and I feed them as much as I can.

I've heard the NJ regs are a real pain.  Is it true that hollow point ammo is illegal?  I had heard that every round found in your possession is a separate count when charges are filed, is any of that true?

I hope you can still get out and shoot as much as you care to, despite the regs.

PA has plenty of downsides, but not when it comes to firearms.  We are fortunate to be able to buy as often and as many as we can afford.  Also CCW permits are relatively easy to get.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

William, you are a great new member. I wish you lived in Central Florida. I was raised in Point Pleasant Beach but came back to my birth state in 1971 and never missed N.J.

My FFL is sometimes annoyed when I buy multiple guns because he has another form to fill out. Tsk Tsk . With a conceal carry permit that the state encourages you to get you walk right out with as many as you want.

I just got my first DW 1911.  A very early Pointman Major-C. I'm in real trouble now.  Revolvers and 1911's. I'm up to 30. You will be soon too . You have made a good start but soon many more choices. Great to have you on the forum.

No CCW in NJ. It is a "may issue" state. Even some retired LEO's can't get a permit. For the average citizen there is no way to get a CCW. As for JHP ammo it is illegal except you can buy it for home defense and for target practice at the range.  If you get caught with a handgun with JHP ammo on the street the state will charge you for the gun & the ammo. NJ is anti gun. Only our republican governor has stopped the dems from adding more anti gun laws to the books although they keep trying. If a dem takes over after Christie we are doomed.
