hello.. I just picked up a dan Wesson 15-2 (or so I can tell). I guess I didn't realize what I was buying, until I found this site.. wow.. very well organized. my compliments.
found this site while trying to find out what model I had. read the post and from what I can tell I have a dan Wesson small frame with a 4"barrel vented shroud. serial 3439XX so early 80's?.. either way.. I ended up picking it up at a pawn shop for 400$. it's missing the cylinder stop, but from this page I was able to find the number to CZ and will order a replacement Monday. thanks for all the great info. figure i'll hang around as I plan to pick up a 8" barrel an shroud from EWK just as soon as I can. already ordered the wrench/spacer/spring kit.. figure I may as well change out the springs being the kit was 16$.
had this gun to the range already and my brother is now looking for one. shoots great. feels great.. I'm excited. going to start working up some reloads for it shortly.

Welcome to DWF. Many of us bought our first DW ( I guess I didn't realize what I was buying) without really understanding it.
BTW, pretty soon some moron here will post
so I'll just get it out of the way early!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the forum. You seem to have all the bases covered, but you need to be warned. Your brother is looking, you want more barrels, buying parts. These are the early signs of DWAS, an obsessive compulsive behavior that most of us have. Not a bad thing. One day dans will be musuem pieces like Japanese swords are. Well , maybe not but we treasure them. Go on ebay and get a couple of different grips. BTW ,my favorite barrels are the 4" and;8" too.

yup I'm in Minnesota. I'll have to start searching the forum here for a schematic on the proper way to break this down to replace to tune up the springs.. feels pretty good, but I figured the spring kit was so cheap may aswell tune it up before I dial it in. (reloads)
Oh Man, do I have help for you:

I wish I could take credit for the content, I can't.
I merely helped you find info from a guy smarter and more accomplished than I. The "SHOOTIST Average Joe" info is is exactly what it says, the way for any average (in my case below average) shooter to improve America's best revolver.
