Awesome. Looks like fun. Do a lot of folks shoot that with an automag?

Do you mean AMT's Automag or magnum auto's in general?
The answer in either case is no. A magnum has little use in IPSC where speed is infinitely more important than stopping power. Nines and .40's are by far the most common autos. I just did this for fun. In the process I managed to prove that the Eagle is quite able and reliable in spite of all the bad hype. I had fewer FTF's (only two all day) than many of the other autos in my squad.
Because of the Eagle's size I had to enter in the Open division where all the other guns have comps, aimpoint sights and mag-capacities around 30 rounds so I really had every disadvantage, mostly in having to change magazines a lot more than the others wich cost me a lot of time on every stage. Even so My result was 53 % on the Open division winner. I was hoping for a result between 50-60 % and I managed just that so I'm really pleased.

Yea I meant Magnums in general. I am sure it was fun, and I bet all eyes were on you.

K-Man (and Leia)-
Congratulations! The best thing about our lives is our children. What a beautiful little girl, and thanks for sharing with us.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks guys!
Yeah, she sure grows. In two weeks she's grown an inch and gained half a pound.
And I promise I'll teach her to shoot when the time is right. Probably won't start with the .445 SM though 😀
That is so cute of you and her in the picture. Mine is 2 1/2 turning 3 in April I bought a nerf shoot gun to toy with the dogs Now when she sees a gun she says Daddy Shoot Daddy Shoot. But when I get the toy gun down she goes no shoot no shoot. LOL

We had a bit of fun in the snow last saturday. No, not THAT kind of fun! This is me and my shooting buddy Caroline making some noice.
A magnum field-comp, 36 shots, six different shooting stations, plates, moving targets and ranges up to 65 yards. My .445 put me well up in the results even though I had a few problems cocking it. I had to help the cylinder rotate manually. Don't really know why. Only when we shot the hands-up station (six shots, 15 seconds 30+ yards) shooting DA, I missed two shots. I've never shot it DA 'in anger' before. It was great fun neverthenless.

K-Man,

Sounds like a fun shooting event, even though it was cold.. I have experiencved the difficult rotation of the cylinder before in my model 40, I had finally concluded it was the barrell cylinder gap and a non-perfect face of the cylinder that was my villain. If I set that particular gun at .002 I will have the problem, if I keep it at .035 or greater I will be able to have it function fine. Check you BC Gap and see if that may be the culprit?

Thanks for the tip. I'll check the gap. I set it not long ago though, but maybe I didn't rotate the cylinder to make sure all chambers clear equally much.
I think the problem may be cases swelling at the base and moving back during recoil and then grinding the frame making it gradually harder to rotate the cylinder with every shot. I experienced this with a Smith .500 Mag i tried a year ago. Wierd though coz it was factory ammo in both cases. I'll have to check the chambers as well.
