Hello. Newbie with a question. A guy has a Dan Wesson Blue, 6" barrel .22 for sale and thats all I know until I look at it tomorrow. He also told me it came in a Dan Wesson gun bag. He's asking $250 for it. I meant to ask him if it was heavy barrel with vent rib but forgot. Oh well I'll check it out tomorrow. Is there a site were a collector could have an idea what it would be worth? Thanks, Bob

to the. I would say if the DW is in good shape $250 is a great deal. At that price it even could be a little rough, but opiniones vary. Good luck and let us know how things come out.

Most definetly to the forum. As far as what it would be worth depending on the model and the condition it is in. No matter what $250 is a deal. I know that I would be looking to add it to my collection for that. Good luck on your deal. Even if you don't buy it let us know what's going on. Because if you didn't want it for that price I bet several members would appriciated info on a deal.

Welcome to DWF Bob. Watching the Auctions is a great way to benchmark pricing. My experience is that prices on Gun Broker tend to run a little higher than I find in my area. If I came across a decent M22 6" at anything up to $350, I'd buy it. DW .22's are much less common than .357's, and I think blue Model 22's are a bit less common than the Stainless 722's
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well I bought it and was tickled until I got home and found the frame has two cracks in it. Stinking thing is beautiful and very well kept!!!! I know the guy very well and know he did not know it had the cracks. Do you think I need to return it? Here's my pistol

One more question. What Model is this?
It's a Model 22-6V. That's .22 LR caliber, with a 6" vent barrel. The "vents" are the slots along the top of the shroud.
Congrats on your score, it looks like a great gun!
Here's a thread showing what it looks like under your side plate...
