Hi, this is my first post. I have several DW's and they always felt good in my hand. I enjoy the history and craftsmanship of DW and even went to a competition several years ago. I shot and hit the 200yard target with a 44 mag DW. I felt proud to have a small part in the history of that sport even if I was a novice.
Now that the intro is out of the way I would like to discuss the topic. I bought a 445 super mag several years ago in pieces with the intention of repairing it but I could never get the trigger assembly to lock back into the frame. I have read the tutorial and looked at the pics since then and will give it another go. Thanks for the tutorial. My question is has there been a more extensive discussion of getting everything back together correctly and potential problems? I suspect there is something broken inside but I do not know enough about how the part should look and function to know where my problem is.
I second that recommendation. On the other hand, the resources are here on the forum to do it yourself. I have totally built small frames from parts and routinely do the average Joe Tuneup to all newly acquired guns. But I haven't played with a large frame yet. I think if you keep at it and succeed you would get great satisfaction. Lots of members here that could answer any questions.

Rex - it's a little tricky to get the hand and transfer bar lined up in their respective tracks and snap in the trigger group. If you're sure you have all the parts together correctly, give this a try. If not, then yes, please follow the advice of the others and send it back to the factory. Have some cash ready to pay for it though.

Rex,If you still have trouble after following Harley's advice, try taking several photo's of what you have, maybe somebody here will see something and let you know, what may be going wrong for you.
I second that.... patience is key in getting the trigger assy all back into position correctly.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Hello Rex, Just an important safety reminder.... Please be aware that even if you successfully re-assemble the revolver...There may be issues with the cylinder timing or lock-up that could be very dangerous. No one knows why the gun was dis-assembled ? I suggest sending it to DW but at the very least double check, triple check, prior to shooting it, that the barrel bore and cylinder bore line up perfectly and lock solidly on all 6 cylinders.
Good Luck

I am still playing with it and will study the new info provided. I did get the gun back together but it does not work properly. I was thinking about sending it in as suggested, I am in no hurry so I will play with it some more tonight. I see it as a education. I used dental floss to hold the pieces in alignment in order to secure the trigger assemble and then picked it out after assemble, how do you guys get these things back together? I seems like an impossible task.
