I've lurked the site for about three years since I picked up my first Dan Wesson, a weathered, blued Monson 15-2 and have been hooked since. Thanks for having me, been learning a ton on information here and collecting accessories when I find them.
Yesterday my DW collection doubled and I brought home a Palmer SS ported .44 in beautiful working condition other than it appears to have a Monson made shroud that sits slightly crooked but I'll find out more when the barrel tool arrives and when I can find a Palmer shroud for sale, hopefully I will be able to get it clocked where it should be.

Thanks, I appreciate the welcome. I had heard that here and remember that it came from the most reputable source (Wesson's son or grandson?).
Mine is a Palmer frame (44S0008XX) and Monson marked shroud, it may be the factory original BA. and wasn't sure if this only applies to the small frames but I heard that some shrouds might sit crooked on some frames, but hopefully I'll be able to straighten it. If not it's not off by much and will still make a great mountain sidearm. Thanks again.

Welcome to the Forum from Wisconsin.
Thank you, it's good to be here.
The barrel tool kit from CZ arrived early and thankfully the shroud wasn't seized with lead so I got a chance to clean the copper and gunk out and set the gap. Hopefully I'll be able to hit the range tomorrow with both DWs. It does seem like I have one of the early Palmer's with an ill-fitted shroud and sent an email to CZ to see if anything can be done and hopefully EWK is well, no new stock for some time and he hasn't posted since January, a custom fit shroud and non-ported barrel would be right up my alley.
