I'm a new Dan Wesson owner. I'm more into collecting revolvers with Police backgrounds, actual service weapons. I just purchased a model 15, With California Highway Patrol and the badge number of the man who it belong to. I have been searching for more, and have not came across any. I'm wondering if this was a special honor gun or if Dan Wesson supplied any state with a service weapon.

I don't know about states, but New York City had (I think model 14's) for a while.

Welcome to the forum from PA. I saw the model 15 you bought I believe on GB. I have only been into Dan Wessons for 5 years or so, but I have not seen any others like yours with the police insignia. Forum member Charger Fan is who I would say is quite knowledgeable about the older 'porkchop' style Dans, and he might know more.

There was a time that Dan Wesson was an option for NYPD issue, along with Colt and S&W, but the DW was modified to be a fixed barrel gun.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
