First Post! I just traded a Taurus Judge for this DW yesterday evening and I'm excited about it. I can't wait to take it out and shoot it. It came with a 100 rd mixture of .357 mag and .38 sp +P ammo and a soft case. Nothing else though... I'm going to be ordering a couple of barrels soon and of coarse the tool. I have my own feeler gauge. I believe my gun is a model 14-2 since it doesn't have adj sights and does not have the pork chop shroud. My only question is: I found an original Burris made scope mount on eBay and I want to know if it will fit my gun? Thanks in advanced!

If it is the one I been watching it is for the Dan but it is also, drill and tap.

Thanks. My gun does not have the vent rib shroud. So I will most likely have to have it drilled and tapped. Unless i buy a vent rib shrouded barrel for it I can't see why that particular mount would not fit my 14-2. I guess my question would be is there any difference in the frame for mounting a scope using a drill and tap mount on a 15-2 WITH the vent rib shroud vs a 14-2 without a vent rib shroud. Sorry if this is confusing...

I dont think that would be an issue. I am sure some of these guys who've mounted scopes will chime in soon. In the mean time you gotta post some pics for us. We all have a sickness here and we love lookin at Dans almost as much as we love holding 'em when they go bang..lol

The frame is the same on a 14-2 and a 15-2 except for the fixed rear sight on the 14-2. I am always loath to drill and tap a shroud but it is perhaps a better way on the large frame and supermags. One option is a RH shroud and rail adapter from EWK. I used that to scope a 15-2 and I can put it on any of my small frame guns If I want to shoot with a scope. If you are going to drill and tap you do not need a vent- rib shroud although it would be slightly lighter than a standard shroud. There is a scope thread under gunsmithing I believe that will help.
