Hey all, names Graham from FL just got a 14-2 i believe, fixed sights 4" Heavy from the monson plant, couple of marks but in great condition for $400. (good deal?)  I really enjoy it! these are a great shooter and i love the aspect of the barrel exchanging. stumbled across the site because it looks like the front runner in dan wesson information so im ready to learn more and definitely expand! off the bat im looking for some smaller grips for carrying and possibly a nice dw case ill look for things as time goes on it the classified section but i thought id mention it for now. pics below!Image Enlarger

welcome to the DWF !!!

that's kind of a 14-2 wink....  You have a 14-2 frame with a 15-2 barrel on it.  My guess is it will shoot a little low with that barrel.  I have a spare 14-2 4" barrel if you are interested in a swap.

Nice! I'd take that trade from Shootist, if I were you! I kinda actually wish I had a 14-2. The wobbly rear sights on my 15-2 don't seem particularly suited to carry...

Welcome to DWF. As noted, you will almost certainly have Point of Aim issues with that front sight.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Shooter, Welcome to this place and yes as said you have a nice 14-2 with a 15-2 Shroud.  EWK makes a conversion sight for these to lower that tall sight.

Although Shoot has a good offer out there!

Ask away as may have some questions also.

Thank you all! shootist im glad you mentioned that, i was wondering why it shot low that explains a lot. I like the look of the full lug barrel, and hearing about this conversion from ewk (thanks dwa_midwest) i think i might try that out first. if that isnt to my liking i would definitely take you up on that trade! that is the only problem with having a 14 with a 15 shroud correct? or is there any other reasons why? is the only difference between the later models of the 2 are the fixed or adjustable sights and front sight heights? and C5rider i am in Clearwater so i'm not too far away!

Front sight height should be the only problem, and I agree that .357 4" Heavy or Vent Heavy is pretty near a perfect revolver. Balances just right for me.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

looks is the difference the vent ( < yours doesn't have) and heavy lug on the 15 the 14 would have no vent and or heavy lug.     the sight conversion will correct the low shooting.  also grab EWK wrench.

Welcome!  looks like the guys are getting you all fixed up. Nw for that carry grip... you can look at what LB offers >>>>> over yonder, or for rubber I like the hogue monogrip.

Remember the really part ... you dont have to "either or" you can do both!! I have 4 4" shrouds ...each is different.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

4 Monson Model 15's

Welcome shooter12.

You seem to have a very rare left-handed DW there if the second pic is to be believed.
