Hello,

I recently bought a new Dan Wesson 357 mag, so far that is the nicest handgun I have ever shot. I am not too sure on what model it is, and am hoping that someone will be able to help me clarify that. Is there any indicator on the gun for the model it is? Or shall I just post a pic of it?

Thank you

Mike

Mike-

Two easy answers to your questions

1) https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/revolvers/what-model-do-i-have-start-here/

2) Please post pictures, it's sort of a Rite of Initiation here big-grin

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

+1 to SteveCT.  A model 40 would be MUCH bigger all around and have a MUCH longer cylinder.

Thank you everyone for the assistance, it seemed too big to be a small frame model. Now I acutally know what I have XD.

A dan wesson small frame is not small except compared to the large frame. At least as strong as a Ruger GP 100. The most apparent difference at first glance is the hammer.
