I'm a longtime Smith and Wesson owner/shooter but have been interested in Dan Wesson's for years. I recently found a 15-2 8VH on GunBroker and decided it was time to scratch the itch. After getting the shroud off (a challenge taking several days and an order from EWK Custom) I cleaned it up, reinstalled the barrel and took it to the range today. Got to say I like the way it shoots. First five rounds went into about 3" off hand at 25 yards. Sweet trigger! Rear sight was kind of loose, and I am still figuring out how to adjust it. Also the large stock Dan Wesson grips, while pretty, are not as comfortable as I'd like. The revolver came with a pair of wooden Hogue grips like I have on many of my Smiths. Unfortunately the grip screw head is larger than the mounting hole in the grips so it will be off to Ace to find an 8-32 cap screw with a smaller head. I could ream out the hole but I'd rather not - I'm not the handiest guy with power tools . I was able to ring a 250 yd gong off-hand with a 125g handload (after 9 sighting shots). Hit it with my last round. Anyway I am looking forward to more range time with this Dan Wesson!
