New member, just joined. In Chicago area. Just picked up a 44 mag 8 inch barrel. Looks almost new. Can't wait to shoot it this weekend. Look forward to learning more about it.

Welcome to the forum from PA!!! I just got an 8" 44Mag a few months ago LNIB and am enjoying it a few rounds at a time. LOL I couldn't enjoy shooting it for extended range time unless I get some de-tuned ammo!

Welcome to the Forum from Kentucky. I love the DW 44s. I too have an 8" barrel 44 and a couple that have shorter barrels as well. I love shooting all of my Dans.

Thanks. I hope it's not too bad. I've shot the S&W 500 mag. It wasn't bad. The DW looks to be about 40 years old. Time for it to be used the way it was intended.

Made it to the range today. Took some practice, but got used to it. First picture is 6 rounds at 7yard. Next is another 6. Very accurate. Need to take out farther next time. Really love it.

I just started shooting pistols two years ago. Mostly semi-automatics. Still kind of new to revolvers, but kind of like them. They make me focus more on my basic shooting skills. My first few trys were awful. Had to get used to the trigger. I need to spend time with it to get better. Might have to look into reloading. The rounds are expensive and I need more practice, But it was fun and put a big smile on my face. This will be addicting! 🙂

Dash 2s started at serial number 50,000 in 1974. Under development before that. Yours is a very early one.
