I bought a DW on GB a month ago as a gift to myself. I had a S&W 29 I used for plinking and deer hunting. After a while I traded it off and bought an Anaconda, which I still own.

On the way home from deer hunting I stopped into Cabelas and bought a near new Ruger Redhawk Hunter which I love, but needs some work in the cleanup dept.

I'm getting rid of the Anaconda.

I was reading the Garrot Ammo thread and he recommends Rugers & DW's. So I got to thinking why don't I buy a DW, since I've shot the other 3 (S&W, Ruger, and Colt). I like the look of my DW 44 Blued and it looks new and have all of the original packaging. It locks up nicely and is STOUT. Due to work, I haven't shot it yet, but will next week and looking forward to it.

I got an itch last week and saw a 445 Supermag - stainless and bought it. I should take possession next week.

I've learned a great deal from this website and want to thank the members for their input and contributions.

My only question is... Where can a guy find an 8" or 10" barrel and shroud for the 7445?

Thanks!dwf-sign

Sounds like you have a nice selection of 44's.  Shoot me a PM and let me know what you're asking out of the Anaconda.  As far as a barrel for the 7445 - you can always buy one new directly from Dan Wesson or you can keep an eye out in the used market but a 7445 barrel doesn't come up ofter and when they do they tend to be somewhat pricey.

Welcome to DWF, you are clearly in love with the Big Guns! Original 7445 B/A's are pretty scarce and will command a premium price, I doubt seriously that you will beat the Factory New cost on this item

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well, everyone else seems to have answered your questions so I'll just say welcome to the DWF.  Glad to have another member who enjoys the "big bang" approach to handgunning.

Now I have to do this: post-pics.

You all are Right - not posting pics is an injustice... I don't have my newer Anaconda nor 7445 yet. Coming next week and I'll post the new family. The Python is a new in the box 1970 and lil bro to the Anaconda. right now I'll post my entire wheel gun family and another of the 44's.

The pic's are a little grainy - I'll retake soon when I get my new kids into the collection.all my wheel gunsImage Enlarger

Thank you! I frequent both, but Rogers is closer. I've also started going to Scheels in Mankato.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Welcome and thanks for the pics.  Southern MN heh?  I have a lot of good memories from there.  My Dad grew up outside of Wells just a few miles east of Mankato.  He used to take me up there every weekend to see the farm.  Shot a lot of 22's back then.  Thanks for jogging my memory and again welcome.
