Just purchased my first Dan Wesson the other day. I've been searching through this website trying to learn more about the revolvers. I had always wanted one, and I finally found one. It is a Md 15 or 15-2 (not sure, hope someone could help) .357 mag with an 8" barrel, manufactured in Monson. It has a six digit serial # begining with 14xxxx. It's in great shape and the blueing is pretty good. Some of the pics make the blueing look bright because of the flourscent lights. Any comments would be appreciated.

Good morning and welcome to the
Your DW is a model 15-2 with a standard 8" shroud. The standard shrouds are actually less common than the vented and vented heavy shrouds in my opinion.
That serial number dates the revolver to approximately 1977.
Thanks for posting the pictures. Enjoy the forum!

Thanks for the info. Am I correct in thinking that a VH barrel and shroud would fit this? I was thinking about getting a 6" VH for this also.
I can't wait to but some rounds through her. I ordered a barrel wrench set from CZ-USA, found the number on this site, coming in handy already. I want to make sure the barrel is secure and the gap is correct before I take her to the range.
