My name is Karl and I have had my Dan Wesson .44 Mag ever since I graduated high school. It was a present from my Dad. That was over 15 years ago. I have had a lot of adventures with this gun and I have a most special attachment with it since it came from family. About 6 years ago I had taken it out of the safe to do its annual cleaning even though it was not recently used. Some how some moisture got in the shroud and small rust had appeared between it and the barrel tube. It was hard to get off and in the process I damaged some of the metal, had to ping the barrel tube out, and bent the cylinder while holding onto it trying to yank the shroud off. Needless to say I was seriously depressed and devastated after this. I couldn't tell my dad and I could never bring myself to buy another .44. I thought Dan Wesson was closed down and the gun smith who couldn't fix it did not tell me about any way to have it fixed.  Well just 2 months ago I heard CZ was over Dan Wesson and was still repairing older revolvers. I immediately sent it in and had it fully restored! It only took 3 weeks and the bluing was amazing!!! It looked like it came right out of the factory. I seriously have not put the revolver down since. I ordered a famous Diamond D Alaskan guide chest holster for it and I got the new front fiber optic site from EWK. I am back into being a proud Dan Wesson owner. I also am looking to get a screw in muzzle break here soon. EWK said he will be putting some new ones out soon. I seriously cannot say enough how glad I am to have my Revolver back. My Bear protection and Families protection when out in the back country! I will some day pass it on to my children. So here I am. I joined the forum and the Dan Wesson Fan Club! Thank you all!!!!

Thank you! Pretty excited about being a part of this community.

I am also interested in the thread in muzzle breaks if anyone knows where I can obtain one. I am currently on the waiting list of EWK. But would like one soon. Thanks!

Kind of looks like a Karl K and DW Success Story.

Welcome Home, the folks in Norwich usually get pretty high marks here for fixing stuff.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome aboard Karl. That's a fine looking Dan and the family connection is the icing on the cake.

if you find one...what's your plan?
