Hello DW Forum,
New to this forum.
Bought my first and only 357 DW14 (porkchop?), (didn't know what I had till a couple months ago) in the early 70"s. Bought it at the Western Auto, and it came in a zip-lock bag with owner's manual, wrench /w feeler guage. It was in a 4" configuration /w the small wooden handle.
Was told buy the seller this model was the service revolver of the state police at the time.
Bought it for home protection at the time and shot maybe 200 rounds over the years. just a couple of months ago, I traded it for a nearly new Ruger P90, and after reading up on the 2 guns, I sick about the trade. I thought I was trading up. The P90 is a sweet gun, but it's not my 357.
I found and bought another 357 DW14 /w 2 1/2" bbl yesterday.

You are correct. Still getting the hang of this forum. And, I think the 14 I just got is the newer model. Looks like most of the menbers have the big frame gums.
This is new , as I've gone from hot rods to hand guns.
Actually, most have a 15-2/715 (finally ), some of THEM have that exotic, large frame, esoteric stuff that the rest of us lust for (well, I DO have a 744). getting the hang of this Forum is going to be pretty easy, we're pretty non-judgemental.
You post, we read it, everybody has fun
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I just found a 15-2 at the gun show in Laffayette La. 6" barrel , big wood checkered handle. I found it on a used gun table, with a bunch of saturday night specials. It looks to have been sitting under the seat or on the floor, as it has several rust freckles. Other than the freckles, it works perfect. Cleaned it up and going to take a picture to show ya'll. Found the hot bluing service on this wedsite. Going to send it off for a dip in the hot tub.
There was a DW super mag also, but wanted a lot for that one. 445 is what I think it was,

15-2 6" is pretty much what started it all for me over 30 years ago, and it is almost certainly the most common DW out there.
Congrats on your find
