I've already posted with a problem and everyone helped in solving it.  Great group of people here.

I don't know much about my DW except it is a .357.

When I was a cop YEARS ago I always wanted to get my hands on one of these.  Never could afford (at the time) one.

Came accross this one at a local gun shop for around $200.  When I told the salesman that I was surprised that it was still there at that price he said most people don't know what they are looking at.

I'm currious about where and when mine was made.  I've attached a photo.  The grips have DWA on them.  Are they original?Model 15-2?Image Enlarger

Looks like a niceun.  This appears to be a model 15-2 V6. Produced at the Monson Mass facility. The grip is probably origional but there is no gaurentee. The grip is from around 1980 or before. After around 1980 the medallion would just have DW on it. You can check out the serial number registry on the right of the screen and get an approximate time frame for your production date. Not an exact science at this point but as close as we can get for now.

Thanks LB,

Do you have any idea what the small screw inside the trigger guard behind the trigger is?

When I had it open I could not figure out what it did.

I'm guessing that mine was made in 1979 or earlier?  By looking at the chart there is no listing of anything in the 19000's.  My serial number is 19661*

That screw behind the trigger restricts the travel of the trigger so it stops just after the gun fires.

That screw is an overtravel adjustment, and at some (unknown) point in time that moved to the trigger. I am the "manager" of the S/N registry, and I can tell you it is a very inexact science, based on lot's of fragmentary info and good faith estimates.

BTW-You got a really nice deal, the barrel wrench is not original, but that is a really nice looking 15-2.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thank you Steve,

The Barrel wrench was purchased by me on line through eBay.  The Allen wrench portion of the tool is useless(at the tip of the barrel wrech).  It is not the correct size for my DW.  The larger Allen does fit the grip screw.  I would love to have a couple of barrels for this especially a 4".

Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum!  Keep a watch out on GunBroker and you should be able to turn up a 4" Barrel Assembly.
