A long tiime fan of Dan Wesson's, and have a couple. They have always out shot aanything else I had.  Smile I am just learning the forum way and the mannerisms..... so any help is always invited. Here are a picture of my two DW's. A 15-2 .357 w/6" barrel and a 744 w/4" barrel.

Welcome to the DWF Sign.

Nice looking Dan's.  The 744 has a vented, heavy slotted barrel assembly (BA744VH4S).  It also has been cross-drilled through the underlug. Those were not factory available options.   Did you do these modifications yourself, or did a previous owner do it?

Welcome Gimparoo,

Very nice pair of Dan Wessons.

That 744 is interesting!  Is it a Palmer issue?  The non fluted cylinder is unusual, and as Mike mentions above, the shroud appears customized.

The cross drilling was done prior to my ownership.....

It was issued out of Palmer, and has an odd serial # 44-JM-00X... it has been an awesome shooter, and the weight is perfect.....   and it just looks tough.Wink
Thanks for the compliments, I have seen some of the members guns, some gorgeous ones at that.

Welcome to DWF Sign

Nice start, new post with pics. The is an interesting 744, with non-fluted cylinder also. Very cool. Enjoy the sight and start looking for more Dan Wessons to add.

Welcome to the forum!  The serial number was probably requested by a customer.  I believe this was an option.

Nice looking Dan's!

Cool- another local to go shooting with. Wink

Do you do the Red's thing, Eagle Peak, or the club in Manor? I'm North, but willing to head South if you ever have the desire to go shoot- I needs practice.

You know everything you need to know about DWF- You have a beautiful classic 15-2, a very hot looking custom 44, and you posted pics.

Welcome aboard

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I go to Red's pretty frequently....  the others I have never been to. I am SSW Austin, near William Cannon and Brodie Ln. I am also in a wheelchair and Red's has nicely accomadated us shorties.Wink Would be nice to have another DW fan shooting together......

email me and we'll work on some get togethers. markc@austin.rr.com

Nice looking pair of DW's you have there.  I like the cross drill idea--I think it and the slots were an effort to maybe lighten the front end and not neccessarily for looks.

I've thought about the 744 wonder if they were doing custom orders back in the Palmer days and if this was actually done at the factory.
