Hi all, Seattle area actually. I was born and raised In Pittsburgh PA so please don't associate me with the typical bleeding heart libs we have so many of out here. I shoot everything from black powder to 50 cal. I primarily shoot handguns and I'm a 1911 nut, but not one that thinks I need a $2500 night hawk though. I love the old wheel guns too so I have a pretty diverse collection. I ran across this site because I found a Dan Wesson in my LGS and wanted to see if they had a good price on it. I found myself in search of a new .357 after my Smith 627 Performance Center V8 met a tragic and scary end…. My ex- father-in-law always liked to use my loader when he was in town and he had used it before without issue. I'm sure you see where this is going…. Anyhow I was always a little leery of him reloading because he is older and didn't have much loading experience. I have a dillon 550 so I figured that once I set it up he should be ok. Well you know what they say about assumption…. it only makes an a$$ out of you and me. He somehow managed to double charge one of the rounds and when it went off it blew the entire top of the cylinder and top strap of the frame off. I can honestly say that was probably the scariest thing I have ever been thru, it sounded like a bomb going off. Anyhow other than being out a 1000 bucks for the gun there were no injuries. Ill post some pictures sometime, this happened over a year ago and I have them saved somewhere I just need to figure out what computer they are on. Anyhow he did replace the gun but at the time I decided I wanted a DW ridgeback, so that's what I got. I have a Colt Trooper and figured that would do at that time. Its such a nice old gun though I just don't like putting .357 through it and usually just use it for 38 special. I like the N frame Smiths but dont like what they get for them now days and I know DW always made/makes a good gun. So that's my story. Oh and an update on the DW .357, I went back today and looked at it again and decided that even though it was a good price it had seen a lot of use and was a little more beat up than I like. I found another one on line that is only 50 bucks more and its back home in PA. Seeing how I'm going back there for the holidays I'm hoping it will still be there when I get home. I will own A DW revolver soon. Ill keep you posted!
