New guy here. I finally registered after lurking for quite some time. I have a Dan Wesson stainless steel .357 with a 6″ barrel that I really enjoy shooting. I've already found a lot of great information on here. I'm currently just using my .357 for target shooting but I am wanting to use it for hunting. I am trying to put together enough info for myself to get my Dan scoped and set up for hunting. Im wanting to find an 8 or 10 inch barrel and shroud and get a scope mounted. I also am keeping my eyes open for another DW revolver.

Glad to have you as a member and not a lurker...  BAs for .357 can be found but FWIW, I think the 357 SM may be a better hunting platform, particularly going after those larger mid-western deer.

Welcome to DWF, and thanks for introducing yourself.

We lived for a few years in Iowa, and our daughter was born there, Thanks for checking in from the Real America

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes there certainly are better choices for hunting. Jumping up to a bigger frame DW would be tough for me. They just dont fit my hands well. The .357 is on the low end of the legal calibers here in Iowa. I have also been keeping my eye open for a Contender or Encore for hunting.

I went down the contender hole for a while too... I think I must have 10 calibers or so...
