Hello!  I've been lurinking around here for a few years and just realized I have never joined this forum.  I've owned a CBOB for a few years now, and just picked up a 744.  She's in great shape (need to get some feeler guages so I can take her apart and clean her up a bit) and can't wait to start loading for her.  My name's Chris...just wanted to introduce myself here.  Thanks for all the graet knowledge shared!

Hey Chris:

Welcome.

Actually you can use any feeler gauge from .002 to .006.

I actually set all of my Dan's at .002.  Just be careful.  Unless your gun was made in Norwich, you have to check the gap for each position of the cylinder as the fronts of the cylinders are not straight, so you want you gap set with the tghtest position.

Enjoy.

Smile

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Welcome Ping and since you've been lurking around here for awhile then you know Post Pics, and we love Cool Pics.

Hope you like the 744 as much as I do.

Hope to see you around often.

Hello Chris, Welcome to DWF. If you don't post some pix, the peanut gallery gets pretty agressive, I'd "git 'r done" if I was you.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I've been working too much lately and haven't been around here. Don't want to appear rude.

Welcome to our forum Chris! Good advice here on checking the gap at each cylinder. Front cylinder faces were notorious for not being square.
