Just wanted to say hi from the stateline in no. Illinois. I recently purchased a Model 14 DW revolver for HD and some fun at the gun/pistol club. I'm an avid fresh-water fisherman, trap shooter, and turkey hunter. I love lever-action rifles, and am trying to build back up a good gun collection that was almost completely sold (stupidly) over 30 years ago to attend college.

Welcome Jim,
I didn't know they let folks have guns in IL or is that just Chicago. 
I think you are the 2nd or 3rd person I've seen talking about model 14's in the last week or two. Normally you could go months without someone mentioning one. I think the 14 would be a very good HD gun.

Thanks for the warm welcome- yeah, we're allowed handguns in some places in Illinausea.(the farther away from Daly, the better) I picked up the 14 this morning at my gunshop- an old friend that handled the FFL transfer. He said the gun appears to be unfired. I'll throw up a thread in the revolver forum.
