greetings to all! I joined the forum a while back in anticipation of purchasing a Valkyrie in 9mm but that never came to fruition, but I did recently acquire a Dan Wesson 44 8" and figured it was a good time to join the ranks as it were.  I have found a lot of useful info here so far and I look forward to learning much more. If anyone is in the Portland area, I would enjoy meeting up and getting in some trigger time. I am a member of Tri-County Gun Club and can bring guests.

Glad to have you on the DWF- you'll love the 44 and now you can begin the search for 6" and 4" barrel assemblies....

Fine pistol. You may be very impressed by the accuracy. Welcome to the site.

Glad to have you on board! always glad to see newbies from Oregon. I live in the Oregon City area. aka Beavercreek. I'm in the process of going to C.C.C., up grading in the Machinest field as a senior freshman. You will learn to love the Dan Wesson's, no matter how many you  have. Your about the 5th I've seen from Oregon that's joined. There is a lot of info to pick up here. nice looking DW you have!occasion

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome! I got some trigger time in today and as predicted, I am amazed with the accuracy of this wheel gun! I used to own a Ruger SP101 3" and was decently accurate with it, but the DW (which happen to be my initials, bonus!!!) is crazy deadly at 50 yards and with some practice 200 yards in not unrealistic. This particular example appears to have been fired a good amount, the trigger is very smooth and crisp in both single and double action. The turn line is certainly noticeable but not worrisome, as I am a user not a collector. I look forward to reloading for the caliber, I really love straight wall brass. Thanks again to all for the kind greetings, and I look forward to many thousands of rounds to talk about!
