Hello from the Emerald City.

I have a  .357 15-2 Monson build with a 6 inch barrel.  I purchased the gun used sometime in the mid eighties, shot a box or two of ammo through it and retired it to storage.

I've recently got my "gun Jones" back on.  Wanting to know more about my gun I began googling and found this forum.  I'm impressed with the breadth and scope of knowlege I've seen so far.  Nice folks too!

I look forward to reading more.

I was planning on doing just that.  Poor picture quality, I know but tabletop photography isn't my forte.

There is some surface rust on the shroud, vent and cylinder.  Next time I go to the harware store I'll be getting some 000 wool (copper, brass?) and gently go at it.

I will also post another blurry picture in the thread about average the Joe trigger job.  I'll be looking for some opinions about the wear between the trigger hand and the inside of the sideplate

Welcome, Terry.

That's a very nice 15-2.  Hope you enjoy your rekindled interest in shooting.  You'll find plenty of info here.

Thats actually a good looking Dan! if you do go with Steel wool .. go with 0000 not the 000, even then be prepared for scratching ( swirl marks).  The original person that did bluing for DW is available for rebluing. Hotbluer is is nick I think.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.
