Looking for a revolver recently & come across a DW 715 VH8 in .357 for sale, the asking price is $595 canadian with no tools,extra barrels or any other info. By checking the serial no (SD 017817) on this site it looks like it could be 25 years old maybe. I have only been able to see some pictures of it as it is in a store far away, it looks like it is in good condition good in the pictures but that is all I can tell, the dealer has no more info as it was purchased in an estate sale.
Could anyone tell me what a good price for this would be & any of info that might be of help.

I have no knowledge on the US to CDN dollar positions nor what the CDN market on DW's is. A good place to look for US prices is Gunbroker.
A 715 is the small frame Dan wesson, (one of thier most produced guns). I suspect it will be a Monson gun, again thier most prolific plant. Not having tools or barrels is a non-issue at this point as both are, or will be readily available. Though you will want at least the tool which is $25 plus $3 for the guage plus shipping lets call it $30 USD. LOOK over there for wher to buy>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I just sold my 715 with a V6 and a 4" to my sister for $550 USD along with all new tools. However, I told her I lost on the deal and it was a Christmas present. For me to break even I would have needed to get $600. My opinoin is that you need to inspect the gun yourself and if it is really a gun you want then the price is ok. If the gun is not up to snuff or if you are more flexible in what you want, or you think you really want a differnet barrel, then passing on the gun may not be a bad decision either. Short: its an OK price but not OMG buy it now price. The VH8 is a long heavy barrel.. you gotta really want THAT barrel for it to be worth your while. Personally I LOVE a 6VH, but the 8VH is too heavy, so I prefer the 8V.

. Looks like Pinetor handled all your questions with superb accuracy IMHO. The only comment I have is I am an 8"VH fan and that would make the gun more attractive to me as a buyer, but that is simply a preference.
Let us know the outcome and if you land it, by all means, get out the camera and show us some

I agree with the aboves. Though as for myself I like the 2.5" as just like to feel the blast! A fair price all in all! I thought you guys couldn't have handguns up north! Just wondering!

Pics do help! 715 could be either a Monson or Palmer both great shooters and barrels can be had reasonable at times! But do check in to GunBroker as some great prices others not so great. Keep us posted!
