Greetings!
New to this forum. Owner of a Pork Chop and a Beater 15 set.
Looking for info, possible parts trading, and history.
Very glad I has discovered this group, DW not much of an interest in the local scene down here but I have discovered a pork chop barrel 4" marked "High Standard". I am looking for other DW pork chop barrels to trade the High Standard, possibly other parts, and knowledge.
More to come I look forward to this Forum...
Your High Standard barrel assembly can be either a fixed sight MkII or an adjustable sight MKIII. They are analogous to Dan Wesson models 14-1 and 15-1 respectively. The 14 and 15 look the same except for the height of the front sight. The -1 is unofficial nomenclature. The difference in a 14-1/MkII and a DW 14 is the 14 no dash has sights on the top strap and the -1 has a cut in the top strap for the rear sight and a shorter front sight. If you have the adjustable sight 15-1 it will have a smaller rear sight and shorter front sight than the earlier DW15. This is important because they may not shoot to point of aim if you don't get the right one.
The only differences between the appropriate DW and HS is the roll mark on the shroud. I have many of both models and brands and may be able to help you find what you need. HS did not sell extra BAs. Only one came with the gun. So it is very hard to find extras. DWs are interchangable.
