Just checking in from NW Florida. I've been shooting DW 1911's for a few years, and currently own a Patriot bobtail stainless from 2005. I'm looking forward to learning more about Dan Wesson autos. I'm currently lusting after a stainless Specialist, and would appreciate input from members that own or have fired one. I'm not new to autos, and have owned Colts since the early '70s. I feel that Dan Wesson makes the finest "production" auto on the market today, at any price. Best to all, and Merry Christmas. Bill.

Bill, Welcome to the forum from Ocala. I don't have any DW 1911s,( just two Ruger 1911s) but I feel the same way about Dan Wesson revolvers. One day I'll have an auto. Bet you'll have a revolver. Or ten ,Ron

Bill- Welcome to DWF. I agree that DW makes one of the very best factory produced 1911's in the marketplace today. DW 1911's command a premium in the marketplace, and they also do a nice job on "Factory Custom" guns, several have been built for members here.

Several years ago I bought a used pre-CZ PM1-S, a gun built to compete in IDPA competition pretty much out of the box. Easily the most accurate centerfire pistol I've ever owned, I thought I was buying a pretty generic PM-7.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
