Welcome aboard. You can get a ton of info here about your Dan. Pig killing with a Dan is going to be just plain fun.
I'm just warning you, everyone here is going to want to see . We're kind of addicted to them.

Well the guy was asking $800 and I talked him down from there, I started at $725 and after a lot of back and forth, half this and half that The price wound up at $762.50. He kept looking at me like I was crazy, it was a lot of fun. He was telling me some guy from Georgia wanted it, I hope it wasn't one of you guys.LMAO

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the DWF.
Was this listed on Armslist real recently? I saw that as I thought it was a deal at $800 IMO. I decided I didn't need another firearm and decided to ignore it. As it turns out, I happened into a firearm that I have wanted for many years that very same day... go figure.
Again, welcome to the forum and congrats. Enjoy it!

Yes it was on Armslist , seller was ex-leo. Shot the gun yesterday, needs a good cleaning. Seller had not carried or shot it since 1981. A little holster wear on the 4" BA, but I am very happy. This is the best pistol I bought all week and a keeper. cdf294 what did you get?Finding a gun is kinda like scouting for game, you never know whats around the next turn in the trail.

You will be amazed what good cleaning will do for your Dan, I really recommend you take a look at this:

It has to be the single easiest and most user friendly starting point to improve performance.

Read most of this sight last night between midnight and 6.
OH, you are deeply infected with DWF Passion, you will fit in very well.
Welcome to a new DWF Brother, any help you need, just ask.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thank you SteveCT. I have now given the piece a good cleaning inside and out, changed out grips and the 6"BA for the 8"BA. I found no surprises inside just gummed up a little bit, a few freckles of light rust on the 6 and 2.5BA I knocked off by hand with a small cratex, didn't even leave a blemish. The 4BA had two small areas of holster rub that a little cold bluing fixed right up, I feel a lot better now. I KNOW it's a tiny bit OCD,I can't help it. I was up anyway washing and drying the dogs house slippers.
