Hello, I'm a new member/lurker. I recently picked up a Pistol Pac with a unique serial #. Does anyone have information regarding the unique serial #s?

dwf-welcome aboard, glad to have you here!

For quite a while, DW was able to allow custom serial numbers as a special order feature. I assume the number on your gun is the original owner's first name...or maybe it's his nickname. lol2

There's a few of us who have special ordered numbers, I have one that I acquired a few years ago...

I was told that employees and special orders could get personalized serial numbers

They stopped that a few years ago, quite a few 1911's have personalized numbers

I have a 744 pack from an employee with his initials plus - 001

Nice looking VH pack. I think I recognize that one ... it used to belong to William.

Welcome to the forum.  The Serial #'s are just a bunch of names of individuals who were lucky enough to have a gun serialized after them.  I've got one here with HEIM-1 - and no idea who HEIM is!

Sorry for my slow reply. That gun was originally to be part of a big game series of custom guns from the American Historical Foundation. For whatever reason, they never got to the "bear" series, so they sold the ones they had on hand on Gun Broker auctions. If I had spotted the auctions sooner, I might have been able to get both 001 and 002, but when I came along, only #002 was up for grabs.
