Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum.

I live on the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

Not new to 1911's or guns in general but will be new to Dan Wesson.  I picked up a new V-Bob and will be here Monday so I will stop by after work to pick her up and do all the paperwork. After I get home I will strip, clean and lube to get ready for my first break in period at my range. I have a Nighthawk 8 round mag I'll use and order a couple more.

Whats funny is I already ordered a custom leather holster that will take around 3-4 weeks to get made. I own a couple Kimbers that I know are not the quality of Dan Wesson but they have been great guns and after broke in have performed perfect without any problems at all.  One being a Micro Carry Raptor.380 that is a pocket 1911 I can take anywhere when carrying a larger 1911 would be cumbersome.

I can't wait to take the V-Bob to the range, it will feel like Christmas in March. I will take some pic's even though I'm sure everyone on this forum has seen this weapon countless times.  Then after I get back from the range I will do a complete review with pictures and my thoughts on how she did.

Welcome to the forum Phil. I'm looking forward to that range report and pictures.

Welcome Phil I'm excited for you show us some photos when you get it. Just want to warn you you will soon have more Dan Wesson's each time the safe opens their is another one in there. Don't know how it happens :)

By the way Kimbers are one of the finest factory produced 1911 style guns built. But you will like the Dans

Welcome to DWF!

We have more 1911 owners joining every day. DWF started as a Revolver Forum, and we are working hard to offer more to the 1911 guys (and I'm a DW 1911 guy)

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome from PA!  I'm another one of the DW 1911 fans in addition to their wheel guns.  You will get a lot of satisfaction out of shooting and carrying that gun.occasion
