I am a 1911 enthusiast owning several of different makes.  I own 2 S&W, 3 Sigs, 2 RIA, 1 Para, and 1 Taurus. I will own a Dan Wesson shortly.

I came to this site to get info on a used Pointman with serial# MR00092.  It is being sold on consignment, but I can't find the true value.  The owner claims it was hand made by Dan Wesson (not CZ), but I would like to verify.  Thanks in advance for any info.

Any better info on which Pointman model it is?

THIS might help on ID'ing it

edit to add: This is copied from a post on the same page that I linked, comes from a Moderator there that seems knowledgeable, referencing S/N # MR0116x

"MR indicates a Pointman Minor. Pre-CZ production, I couldn't tell you when (DW didn't correspond it to the serial number until 2004) but the low number indicates 2001 or 2002."

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the info.  I am heading to the dealer now to pick it up.  I called and offered 500$ (asking $750 reduced to $600) and the owner accepted.  I hope I didn't act to quickly as it has some marring on the frame below the barrel.

As long as it functions properly, no way did you go wrong at $600

OK then...I bought it for $500 and it is fully functional and just has some minor cosmetic issues.  It is a PM2 Minor.

I have pictures, just need to find how to insert.

Nice score, the gun looks better than you described.  I'd have grabbed it at that price myself.

Thanks.  I just need to clean her up good and take her for a test run.  Maybe next weekend I'll get a chance to go to the range.
