Hello all,
Long time DW fan, grew up shooting a 44mag that my father had, he told me he had gotten it around the time I was born in '81. But dad was a BS'er, who's dad wasn't. It started my love affair with wheel guns that continues to this day.
It had been left to me when he passed 20 years ago and it has finally landed in my possession, long story...
I found the forum through my attempt at restoring the pistol to its former glory and figured I'd join. Hopefully I can lend some of my general knowledge to the forum and gain some insight as to the history of my new/old Dan Wesson.

DW 44 debuted in 1981 so your dad may have bought it new. BTW, there IS a difference between a story teller and a BSer. Sometimes a story teller is a one upper. They may appear to be a BSer but the stories can be true. Just my 2¢.
Thanks! I'll have to remember that, growing up in Ohio we always called it bs'n wether it was story telling or bs'n. We tended to muddle meanings together up there.
Reminds me of when I first had moved to Florida, an old timer I worked with corrected me to use redneck and not hillbilly. Told me using hillbilly was the quickest way to get hit in the Panhandle. Beat advice ever.

We say " teats on a boar hog", not "teats on a bull" in the south too. You know the difference between a Yankee and a Damn Yankee don't you? Yankee is visiting, Damn Yankee is staying. NC is already overrun with Damn Yankees. Now they are fleeing NY and coming to Florida.
I've been called that many a time....my Ohio accent gets me in trouble!
I think I'm going to like it here.
