Hello,
Just joined. I'm from Eastern,NC. I have a Monson , Mass. stainless 44 w/6" barrel. Dad bought the gun new and shot it a good amount with home brewed Keith loads. He recently gave it to me as he is not shooting much any more. I bought a set of patridge front sights and have been shooting it out to 200 yards from the bench. The gun is very accurate with my Keith bullets and especially with the Thompson/Keith 265gr swcgc bullet. My own cast bullet weighs 263gr lubed with gc installed and with 22gr of 2400 it is close to 1400 fps from the 6" barrel and is very accurate. I've also been shooting the same bullet by Matt's Bullets with good luck. His bullet is sold as 265gr. My rear sight is the factory sight and I think is the later or most current version. In other words, a Ruger rear sight will fit it pretty well. My friend has an earlier model Monson gun in blue and his has the longer rear sight. In fact, his gun has a Millet and not the factory sight. He needs a new sight as the windage adjustment on his Millet is unscrewing and taking adjustment. Anyone know where to find a replacement for the early sight?
Thanks and I hope to contribute to the site...
