Hello I'm from Portage IN. I'm a Vietnam Veteran, like 1911's I don't own a Dan Wesson yet but will own one soon. I have Colts, Kimbers, and Glocks to name a few now it is time to step up to a Dan Wesson. Looking forward to information on 9mm 1911 V-Bob

Welcome from Wisconsin!  I am sure you will get some help with DW here but I am a revolver guy so I will not be any help.

Welcome to the forum JR .

If you like your 1911s smooth, tight , and accurate, you will love your V-Bob.

I have a couple DW 1911s including  a Valor 45 thats similar to the V-Bob. I would suggest running it a bit wet with FP-10 the first couple hundred rounds. After that just normal amount of lubrication.  There is also a lot of good info in the Dan Wesson section of the 1911 Forum so you may want to visit that site also.

Thank you for your service !

Welcome to DWF.

hugelk has provided great advice, run it wet. DW 1911's are fitted pretty tight from the factory, they benefit from careful "shooting in".

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
