I purchased my first Dan Wesson model 15 in 1978 from a gun store in Pittsburgh where I lived at the time. I badly wanted the pistol pack, but could not afford it, so I ended up with the standard 6" for $149. Immediately, I bought a zebra wood grip to replace the standard one, only firing 3 boxes of shells through the gun its entire life. I kept it until just a couple years ago, when it was stolen from my house, locked in a safe. I have since purchased several guns, mostly S&W, but really missed that model 15. Shooting at a local range last year with my niece, the store next door had a model 15 under consignment. It also was the basic 6", with a combat grip, also made in Monson Mass, but with a much lower serial #. It was in great condition. Not having enough money with me, I suggested a trade with my 629 S&W. He got the better deal but I wanted that gun. I took it home, cleaned it and switched grips with my original from 1978. Perfect! Last weekend, I went to a large gun show, when something caught my eye, a Dan Wesson 15 with a 8"vented barrel.

Welcome to DWF, I bought my first DW (and it was my First Gun) in 1977, it's still in the family.
There are several more here in the safe, others have come and gone over the years
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
