Greetings from Ohio,
I have been checking out this site for a while, and finally got around to creating an account. What a great Forum, you guys really have a good thing going!! Been shooting and hunting for many years and absolutely love the innovative design and quality of the Dan Wesson revolvers. A couple pics of my Dan Wesson family photo, the 715 is proudly wearing an LB special, LB’s workmanship for grip making is awesome !!!
Looking forward to DW discussions with the group.

Welcome to the Forum, we're going to need a closer look at that DW 1911, maybe a PM7?
Pay no attention to that "Buckeye" comment, there can be a little BIG 10 rivalry here sometimes!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

You won't get any disparaging words from me on this subject by any means, LB is the best of the BEST!!
Also, judging from the grips on your 1911 looks like it's maybe a pre-CZ gun? I have a pre-CZ1911 in my stash too... Mine's a PMAB (PointMan Aussie Blued) I love how it shoots!!!

Gents,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
The DW 1911 is a pre CZ firearm, it is a PTE-S (Patriot Expert - Stainless), .45 ACP, match barrel, target sites and external extractor. Manufactured at the Norwich NY facility. I purchased this gun new in February of 2003. The most accurate and reliable 1911 I’ve ever owned, feeds anything I throw in the clip including a whole bunch of hand loaded 200 grain lead semi wad cutters backed by 4.5 grains of Bullseye, my favorite target load. Was skeptical about the 9mm firing pin, but haven’t had any trouble with light strikes or otherwise.
Okay, now for Big 10 Football…. I do somewhat support the Buckeyes, of course I’m an Ohio guy…. but I’m really a diehard Notre Dame fan, family traditions. What a great year they had, I was on cloud nine, until the cyber girlfriend arrived…..I’m still trying to wrap my head around that one!

Wow...a three Moderator welcome!!
As of today, that is a FOUR Moderator welcome! A DWF First!
And Greg, you were actually better off being an Ohio State fan as opposed to Notre Dame, trust me . It's a long story.
I share your love of the DW 1911's, I have a PM1-S that is so much more accurate that I can shoot it, it's a crime. I will fall prey to the photo post madness with a newer one:
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
