Hello my name is Kasey and I am new to the forum and to Dan Wesson revolvers. I have always hear the name and people speak highly of them. I've always loved revolvers, but never have owned one. Love the history of wheel guns and that in my eyes they are works of art.
I came across a Ruger LCR that a coworker had that was in need of help. I purchased the LCR and was never really happy with it. I came across a Dan Wesson model 14-2 with a 4" barrel. Spoke to the gentleman for some time and long story short he was interested in the LCR and we traded straight t across. I think I came out on top in the deal. Gun is beautiful and excited to learn more about it and the history behind these guns. I am a history freak so the research will be fun.
Happy to have a place to go to learn about these guns and meet people with the same interests.

Kasey, You came to the right place for DW history. You could read for days without stop at the amount of posts here on the history of our beloved DW's. Glad you joined us and have a Dan to get started with, but beware as you will read, we have a following of folks badly infected with . It has no cure and is highly contagious.

Thank you all for your replies. I spent the last few hours of my day (at the office) on here reading some great posts. Learned a lot and plan on learning more.
Supermagfan, I think I may already have DWAS after reading up there is some much I want to know and get. I've already been caught by my wife searching gun broker for other items. HAHAHA
Snake-eye, range report will definitely be coming soon. The great thing my wife said last night that she really wants to shoot it too. HAHA
Ole Dog, sadly you are correct. A lot of these art forms are leaving us.
Here is a pic of the DW I got. LOVE IT!

Very Nice! Looks to be in super fine condition.
My wife started out with a heavy barrel, nickel S&W Model 10, 4 inch, which she still loves. Really accurate, fun shooter. It's now her Kitchen gun. She has moved up to a 15-2 for target shooting and I put together a Pac for her very own. She also has a 744 now. DWAS will infect the whole family.

Thank you. Coming from someone that knows these better than me makes me feel a ton better. I did print out the list of things to "test" or look at on these so I plan on checking it all out this evening. Although right now I know it does lock up nice and seems to be all good.
That is great to know your wife shoots too. We always get comments when my wife and I go to the range together. I hate to admit she is a much better shot than me and I got away I feel I'm pretty good. HAHAHA I can already tell she's going to want one of her own the way she was eying this one and when she held it she was instantly comfortable with it. The good thing with DWAS infecting the whole family just means I won't get too much backlash when I buy something.
