greetings all,
since I am new here i figured i would stop by and say hi.
Long time lover of the DW platform, been shooting my model 15 for about 20 years.
i see there is a thread here for Items for sale.
do i have to have a certain number of posts before I can post some thing to sell?
Im not looking to upset anyone by going "off topic" in this tread.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies,
Roland
Hey Roland,
Welcome to the forum! I guess I'm the rule maker around here and as Dusty stated we sort of make up the rules as we go. The Dan Wesson Forum is only a little over a year old and so far we really haven't had to have any rules. Just common courtesy to others.
But I think I've got a good one to start with:
If someone is wanting to sell something for a really good deal I get first option!
Actually I'm kidding about that... if you have something you want to sell by all means post it in the classifieds. Mostly likely somone is looking for what you have.
Again welcome to the forum!

thanks for the warm welcome everyone,
the critter in the pic is a eastern pa "grund sow"
or at least thats what the fellow told it was in a heavy pa dutch accent.
To me it looks alot like a dead ground hog. I shot it back in the mid to late 90s
at 80 paces with the revolver in the pic. Pre digital camera, at least for me.
I was blasting them with a 270 win and 110 grain hornandy bulltes, but the noise bothered his dog, so I loaded up a +p 38 spcl load and started whacking them with the DW.
Great gun, good load, and a decent shot. that summer i must have killed 100 of them. It was a really good deal, i killed grund sows, and he let me deer hunt his farm. the fellow has since moved on to the great happy hunting grounds, ( or where ever dead dutchmen go) but through his daughters hatred of grund sows, i am still whaking them, and still deer hunting the farm. for the past few years i have been using a savage bolt gun, in 17hmr, so the DW hasnt seen much action. with all the hyperbole about our new pres wanting to do away with this and that, i figured i would part with the 10 barrel, 1.5 x 4 power classic weaver scope, and leupold mount, with bikini cover, and find a decent semi rifle in 45acp.
I also have an original barrel nut wrench tool, and feeler gauge that i dont use any more. i will be keeping the gun, just going to put the 6 inch barrel on it.
i was surfing the net last night and found this forum, after reading through some of the archives i see you guys are usualy looking for this and that, and I would like to find some one who would use the barrel ect, not just let it sit in the safe collecting dust.
The shroud is stainless, the barrel and nut are blue. i think I have the stainless barrel some where, but i had a jacket seperation one day, didnt relize it, and buggered the rifiling up. when i called DW the price for the blued barrle was less that the stainless one. So after some soul serching, ( I had to figure out if I wanted a stainless 10 incher, or lunch for the next week) I went the blue route.
This barrel and scope combo is a tack driver, with the right load I can consistantly keep a 2 inch group at 50 yards, on sand bags.
i have some other things I am going to get rid of, galco miami classic shoulder rig, for 1911s, a TC hawken 50 cal flintlock with all the amenities, ect.
guess i am going to have to figure out how to post some of the other stuff on gun broker.
Like I said,
thanks for the warm welcome everyone
Roland
