Like most European countries Portugal is very restrictive to guns, is almost impossible to get a concealed carry license, because I am a sport shooter I have legal access to guns but basically I can only use them at the range.
We are still trying to find our way out of a economical crises, the number of sport shooters is still decreasing, for example my shooting club has today half of the shooters he had 5 years ago.
When we get out of this crises I think the number of sport shooters will rise again but for concealed carry permits, Europe (not just my country) is hopeless.

We don't really have concealed carry permits in Canada, either. There are a few exceptions but generally all pistols are for range use only.
