Hi my name is Kyle I'm from RI. I have been bitten by the DW bug. I do no own one YET. I do some shooting hunting at home in RI but most of my hunting/shooting is done in Maine at a camp my family owns near the town of Milo. We have a nice range with 200 yard capability. We primarily bear hunt and small game hunt there because the deer population is far and few. I love to grouse hunt and recently picked up my first Brittany pup hes now 6 months old. Hes a good pup and a handful. Hopefully hell get into some birds this season. I do most of my bird hunting with a Winchester 1300 pump with orange/green laminate stocks i shot the gun so much i had to rebuild it, its a sweet shooter. I do my big game hunting with a Browning Model 71 carbine in 348 Winchester, I'm really happy with it, and impressed with this cartridge. Another one of my favorites is my Browning 53 in 32-20 I can shoot this gun better with open sights than anything else I've ever fired; my want for a revolver in this caliber to match has led me to this forum and on the search for a DW 3220.
I have been playing with the idea of getting a revolver for long range shooting and maybe some small game hunting in 32-20. Could make a nice small game side arm while deer hunting. The thing is I want to be able to use my rifle load that shoots so good out of my 53 in it so I don't have to designate ammo (unless the handgun wont shoot the load accurately ill have to develop one for it and keep them separate). Plus factory 32-20 is what i consider under powered. I reload for this cartridge and use 17gr. of H110 and a 85gr. Hornady XTP. I haven't chronographed it but it should be a little over 2000 fps and a very flat shooter which will be great for long range handgunning. This is considered a "rifle only load" published for modern model 92 or stronger rifles. However, most revolvers cannot handle this pressure but the Dan Wesson will. I recently talked to DW Tech support and inquired on my load compatibility with the model 3220 revolver and they told me id be all set. I asked if rifle only loads were ok and explained that I figured since the frame is also used and rated for 357 mag and the cylinder is the same but with more material hence the smaller cartridge it would be stronger and handle 357 pressures. There answer was that I was correct. Any published load can be used. The 32-20 doesn't reach 357 pressure levels anyway.
So now I am on the hunt for a 3220 Dan Wesson Revolver and will be experimenting with long range revolver shooting at 50yds 75yds 100yds ect out to 200yds
I'm excited to be a new member I cant wait to get my hands on one.

First Welcome- and thanks for the great intro! I've always wanted to hunt for black bear with a handgun- it's on the bucket list. Be patient searching for the DW 3220. It took me several years to find one at a decent price. They command a 'collector' price on the auction sites, reaching over $1500. I found mine for $800 after a lot of searching. You are in the right part of the country though to possibly find one on the private market or a gun/ pawn shop. Good luck!
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
You should have ALL the calibers. Haha. Glad your experience us joining us. You have spent a lot of time researching, very impressive. As Ron said, 3220's are pricey and rare. 32 H+R mag are more available. Dan Wesson may be able to chamber a cylinder for 3220 you could use on a 32 mag. Good luck.

to the . Glad to see you do your homework and the DW frame is one tough customer for sure. You may spend some time hunting down your 32-20. They come by about once a year or so on GB. the last one I remember was a member here selling one. I have a SS one myself, but it is no looker, it has small scratches all over it, but I do have it . Good luck in your pursuit. Half the fun of DW collecting is the search for the illusive.
