Hey all,
Glad to be joining the board. Recently inherited a DW 357 Magnum from my father. Unfortunately I don't know much about age or even what model it is. Searching around the forum and comparing serial numbers I think it was manufactured around 1979. Pictures are attached and hoping those more knowledgeable than me can tell me exactly what it is. Thanks and look forward to enjoying shooting this gun.

Welcome to DWF! It looks like you also have the Dan Wesson case, which is a relatively rare item, and everything looks to be in great shape.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Gentlemen - glad to join up and for identifying the model for me. From looking at the website I had it narrowed down to model 14 or 15, but is hard to figure out for a novice. Other posts make it seem like the Model 15-2 is one of the most common models out there - is that correct.
Glad to find out the case is semi rare - Dad always kept it tucked up in a closet. Inside is a little stained from gun oil over the years but outside pretty good with only 1 small little puncture spot.
Was also happy to find the tools and barrel gauge with it. I would have sworn he had another barrel for it also, but it wasn't in the case. Will have to keep any eye out for it while sorting through all his stuff.
Last thing - best place to get other barrels / grips is where?
Thanks, Scott

Keep an eye out- gunbroker, ebay, proxybid, put a want ad on this forum, and of course local gunstores. New BAs can be purchased through Dan Wesson but they will be laser engraved, not roll stamped. Finally EWK will make production runs, place your name on his notification list for the BA/ shroud you wish to purchase.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
