I am a new member from up state SC. I have received a Dan Wesson model 15-2 from my father and I want to learn about the pistol. I am an avid shooter of auto pistols and only had one revolver prior to getting the Dan Wesson.
I have been to range a couple of time with the pistol and found it is not sighted in. It is shooting way low and to right a little.
Browsing this site has provided a lot of info that will be useful in caring for my new pistol.

John, Welcome to DWF. Thanks for the New Member introduction. The problem you described is probably very easily resolved, there are a lot of smart people here.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks, I browsed the forum and found a solution that worked. The solution was to flood the rear sight with CLP as crud had built up and needed to be softened. This worked and with a laser sight in tool, I was able to adjust the sight to point of aim. I now need to head back to range to verify adjustments.
Great site with lots of information.

Also from SC , I purchased a pair of model 15s last year and I have fallen in love so I was checking out all of the 1911s in the local shops when a patriot PTC became available so I purchased it a few days ago. It hasn't showed up at my LLC yet. I'm looking forward to taking it to the range.
