Hey all, thought I'd better join this DW Forum and see if I can stir things up a little, (just kidding). Did just last week aquire my first Dan Wesson firearm. And WOW I must say this thing is nice. As in Really Nice. It's a 2010 model 1911 CCO. I've been looking for one for over a year now but have to say it was worth the wait. I have never seen a so called production gun come out of a box with this kind of quality. I have handled Wilson Combat, Les Baer, and Ed Brown's before but can't really figure out what exactly they have on DW's that make them so much more expensive. Course you all already know that. Anyways looking forward to the forum. Let the games begin …

Welcome to the Forum, CCO is one of the models that really helped DW polevault into the "factory custom" level of 1911 manufacturers, unfortunately, prices have followed that trend.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the forum. You will find that there is a bunch of "good guys" here. I have many memories of Az and the good weather tho the summer was very hot. I was stationed at Williams AFB in Chandler back in the '60s when I was in pilot training. We used to fly over Kingman while flying under the hood so I never saw any of it. Temp on the flight line would get up to 130+ F. Jets take more runway in hot weather and the a/c didn't work until altitude but still a great place to train.

Welcome... I just got my first DW 1911 about a 3 weeks ago.. and shot it ( or any .45) for the first time last weekend. I can't compare 1911's.. but DW's in general means quality.
BTW: Bob Serva ( who at one time owned DW) now runs Fusion. I visit his site pretty regular as he offers lots of parts ( wish he did a .22 conversion).

I almost had a mid-air with a F-4 while flying a T-41a out of Casa Grande in my first trainer. Got sprayed with jet fuel it was so close.
Boy, that would sure make the 'ol sphincter pucker.
aboard, Jdberger! Kingman is a nice place to visit this time of year. Last time I was there was about 3 years ago, on a trip to Lake Havasu...on a bikini inspection quest.

to the DWF. We are a general DW forum although you will find most of us are revolver guys, a lot of us have 1911s also and there is a section devoted to 1911 dicussions. Hang out here long and you too will probably have both. Enjoy the site.

We are more "brassflinger" friendly than in the past as more of us acquire DW 1911's, and 'fess up to owning a variety of 9mm's, .22 target pistols, 1911's. etc.
I think we're evolving
