Greetings to you all!
I finally could collect on last weekend my teenage dream (saw it once in a book from 1990) – a Dan Wesson Pistol Pack of 715 4-barrel 2VH model (please correct me if I am wrong).
If I get it wright, with the information found on the forum, it was produced around 1992.Unfortunately, I have no further information on the pack. I got it from an auction. I did ask the auctioneers about further information – if I get any answer, I will let you know.
I know, for those from US, it is nothing special. For us Europeans, Dan Wesson products are extremely rare … Most you can find, are blued revolvers.
Mine is complete, 4 barrels, stainless, with belt buckle and case.
The revolver itself is in good condition. The shrouds, frame and buckle are a bit oxidised (?) / blackened … Does get cleaned (but with much effort) when cleaned with Lead Remover & Polishing Cloth (Birchwood).
The barrel inside is blank / clean.
Unfortunately, the case interior is awful …. Do not know what happened (see pictures), was probably stored at a heating (?). Fortunately, frame and barrels were stored oiled in plastic bags!
my first step is - get it cleaned / shine ....

Thanks to you all for the welcome.
Folowing Snake-eye's advise I just soaked the foam. However I am afraid that I will have to replace the foam 🙁 As you can see on added pictures (see below), I falls apart by itself ... Does anyone of you know if where I can get good and matching foam for replacement?
But I am still fortunate! By removing the foam, I found (still sealed) case keys and instruction manual!
And scott B - fortunately the frame and barrels were stored in plastic bags and oiled. In total there is a minimal patina on the gun itself that I have to get rid of. There is more patina on the belt buccle.
I will try to make more pics in the next days.

Yep. There are often surprises stored under the foam.
Bummer, it does look like your foam is terminal!
If you were in the US I would recommend you buy this foam and cut it yourself: https://www.fastcap.com/product/kaizen-foam
However, as they say on the website, the shipping cost would likely be too high, unless you can put together a group of folks who want some.
You may be able to find something like it on your side of the world.
Possibly you could order one of the new plastic cases from Dan Wesson when they get back up and running again.

Your revolver is a Model 715 (the '7' denotes stainless steel).
The 'VH' indicates the configuration of the barrel shroud, which is "Vented Heavy" (vented top rib and full length underlug).
The number after the VH is the barrel length in inches (e.g. 715-VH4 for 4" barrel)

Hiya, TZB. Great to have DW fans all over the globe, and you Swiss guys sure know your steels. I've got a Swiss made 1994 Sphinx 9mm/.40 cal semi auto and it is extremely well done. Tight tolerances and a work of art to look at. So welcome and I'm glad you can appreciate the craftsmanship and versatility of the Dan Wesson revolver.

Hi all.
Finally got time to write again and to some pictures (and shooting - see day at range section). The rest is do be added soon.
photohause! Great to hear that a No.Close chap. Did you buy it directly from producer, ie are you the first owner?
I tried to find out the production date with help of the forum. However the dates provided (not updated fro lverly long time) do not match.
Mine has the Serial Number of 357S00394X, Model P-715 2VH in Pistol Pack with 2.5”, 4”, 6” and 8” barrels
Weapon was shipped to Switzerland (date unknown). Manufactured in Monson, MA by Dan Wesson Arms (defunct/ taken over by Wesson Firearms in 1991). Was in American Tourister case (turning buckles). The Pack is complete.
The manufactory date is probable between 1988 and 1991 because of:
- first known 715 Stainless in “357Sxxxx” Series, has the serial number 357S00109x ; purchased in 1991 (but might be manufactured before)
- serial number 357 S 005489 was bought in 1988 (= manufacture date?)
- Serial no 357 S 00774x and higher were purchased later
- the manufacutre quality seams to be lower than usual
- manufacture and production date is not always the same – some products can “wait for a customer” over years 😉
Would by greatfull for any hints.
PS: does anybody had 3D print (or even 2D) digitilised prints for the Tourister blue foam inlay?
