Hows it going.

I found this forum while searching for parts for my DW 44.

I am from a small town in Alberta, Canada. I'm a auto mechanic by trade but I work on natural gas compressors as an occupation.

When I'm not working I'm either quadding, hunting, fishing, or in the workshop building the wife some new furniture.

I collect military rifles as a hobby as well as pistols.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Good morning, and Welcome to DWF! Thanks for introducing yourself here, I know more of the guys will be along to say Hi as well. If you have a chance to stop by our "Other Brands" Topic and tell us more about your rifles, that would be great

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome Glad to have you here! What flavor of DW 44 do you have, any pics?Laugh

I'm sort of an auto mechanic by hobby/necessity...but only on my own crap. The hobby type isn't bad, it's when you have to keep the daily drivers going that sucks.lol2

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Welcome Wobbles.  I know you'll love this place, the DWF.  Did you acquire your 44 new or used? Always interested in the history behind the owner.

And  Post Pics.......rofl   Do you hand load?

Inquiring minds want to know, but most of us have lost our minds after catching DWAS.

Again welcome to the  DWF Sign

Thanks for the welcome guys.

As for pics it'll have to wait until the gun is fixed. I was shooting metal plates at the

range with some 44 special loads and had a squib, I touched off a second round before

noticing. It bulged the barrel and shroud but no other damage. Unfortunately I can't find parts as of yet.

I have some older pics I can probably dig up though.

Holy crap!!Surprised I'm glad it didn't blow up on ya, that would just take all the fun out of it!

Did you have to cut the barrel & shroud off to get it apart?

There isn't too much too see as far as the barrel being bulged.  It doesn't show up in pics but is definately noticable when you run your fingers down the side. I left the barrel with the gunsmith who did the removal work. He uses it when he's teaching firearm safety. I'll see if he will section the barrel so I can get some pics.

I had a gunsmith remove the barrel assembly  for  me as I couldn't even get the barrel bushing out let alone the barrel. He had to cut the barrel shroud right where it meets the frame until he cut the guide pin. After that the barrel spun off.
