New guy checking in. I bought a 15-2VH (monson) 2514XX new in El paso in 1980. Had it ever since. It came with a 6"barrel, A bad reload squibbed and ruined that barrel after about 2,500 rounds and 2 years. I replaced it with a 4" , shot it some and then pretty much put it away until recently. I forgot how much I like this gun and how well it shoots. So, things being what they are, I was really suprised to find CZ still supports the old ones, .Ordered a new 2.5 barrel today and I am considering an 8. Kind of build the pistol pac I wanted and or could not afford 30 years ago.
Very happy to have found you guys.

kpm-Very happy you found us, and we're glad to have you at DWF. There are lots of us who put away the "Dans" for many years, then dug them out again. Enjoy your Pistol Pack resurrection, remember you can also find original Monson barrels on GunBroker, and often guys here have extras they are selling off.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the Forum KPM, great to have you here!
Are you still in El Paso? We have a growing group of Texans in the ol' DWF.
As Steve noted, a lot of us have your same story, uh, minus the squibb maybe…
Amazing how much we all are enjoying our DW's on the second time around. Jody has postulated that it has something to do with reliving our youth - yeah, he's probably right…
Bought my first in 1980 as well - wish I still had it - but it has been replaced!!
Check Savoy's 8″ barrel under the “For Sale” forum. He funded a “huntin' gun" by selling his extra PP barrels - and the barrels are cherry. And as Charger said, check eBay for cases, tools, grips, etc., etc.
We're going to want to see pictures as you put that Pistol Pac back in order!

KPM,
Welcome to the forum, I had wanted a Dan Wesson for many years but at the time could not make the purchase for several reasons. When time finally worked out it was quite a treasure to add a fine revolver to the collection. It has been nothing but fun ever since when shooting the DW's. Glad to see you joined us and are getting the fevere again.
