Hi guys, I am a new member from Richmond Virginia. I am also a soon to be new Dan Wesson owner. I am buying a model 15 .357 inch revolver next week from a local seller. It has a 8" barrel with the Pork chop configuration. I will post pics when I get it.
I plan to replace the 8" with a 4" barrel ACP then shoot the snot out of it. Look forward to our future discussions.

The porkchop configuration is an earlier vintage of Dan Wesson, less commonly seen, but still true to the Dan Wesson style of interchangeable barrels, and the "tensioned" barrel assembly design.
There are more options and styles available in the later generation "straight" barrel assembly designs, and they are much more available, both from original DW production, DW/CZ new production, and aftermarket production.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The porkchop has a flange that extends down to the crane and anchors there instead of using a roll pin. 6 " was the longest barrel. The shroud has a L shape. I am very fond of them and suspect they are maybe more accurate than the latter 15-2. Of course it depends on the individual gun. The earlier porkchops had an even shorter hammer throw than the models 15-1 and - 2. BTW, I have determined how they created that short hammer throw but cannot divulge it yet until I aquire a certain part or two.
